Alistair is one of the country’s leading major loss practitioners. He has a respect and recognition in the market for the management and handling of high profile multi-million pound losses not only in the UK but throughout Europe, the West Indies and Asia. Some noted examples include the handling of a holiday and leisure complex loss in De Emhof Holland (Excess of £100m) and the handling of the largest property loss arising from the Buncefield Oil Refinery explosion, also in excess of £100m.
One of the UK’s pre-eminent major loss practitioners, Alistair joined the insurance industry in 1973 and the adjusting profession in 1980. He has successfully managed eight overseas CAT operations and also the UK’s largest property loss, arising from the Buncefield explosion. He has been a member of the adjusting team throughout its development into vrs Vericlaim.
Alistair has successfully managed eight international catastrophe response operations and has overall operational and management responsibility for the Glasgow office.
